My Go-To Guac Recipe

Ok but for real, who doesn’t like guacamole!? It took me a while to finally master the exact flavor profile I envisioned. I needed the perfect ratio of lime zest to spiciness to fresh citrusy cilantro all at once- and it was difficult. I finally stumbled upon a ridiculously cheap taco seasoning at Trader Joe’s one day and it has been the game changer in my guacamole ever since. I always like to incorporate herbs and spices wherever I can when I am creating a recipe. In this recipe I use cilantro which is a powerful detoxifier for the liver and kidneys because of its antioxidant properties and naturally occurring vitamin K. It also protects against free radical damage because of the flavonoid quercetin. Winning if you ask me!

Here’s the breakdown: (serves 3-5 people)

3 large avocados

1/2 tsp. turmeric

1/4 cup diced red onion

Juice from half of a large lime

1 1/2 tbsp. cilantro

1/4 tsp. pink salt

Dash of cayenne pepper

Top secret Trader Joe’s taco seasoning (about 1 tbsp.)

I usually pair it with some organic/gluten free Himalayan pink salt tortilla chips from Lundberg Family Farms or Mary’s Gone Crackers herb crackers. (I buy these at Giant).

I hope you guys enjoy this recipe as much as I do! Leave a comment below if you’ve tried it or tag me @8thwonderhh :)
