Toss Your Hair in a Bun, Drink Some Coffee, Turn on Some Gangsta Rap and Handle That Sh*t! A Quarantine Update

Now, more than ever, we have been forced to spend all of our time at home- quarantined from society. Although I haven’t been negatively impacted by this pandemic, I have used this as a time to reflect, soak up those otherwise normal little everyday moments, and get creative with more DIY projects at home. It seems to be such a fragile time, some days I don’t even know how to BE. My emotions have been all over the place, but most of all I am so grateful for the life I have and all the constant blessings God has put in it. I urge whoever is reading this to realize that this very ordinary moment in time, is in fact, extraordinary. Take some time to write down all the things you’ve done, because I guarantee it will turn out to be more than you thought and it will make you smile. Make the most of every day you get to wake up because tomorrow is never promised. Here’s how i’ve been spending my time, hopefully it inspires you to do the same!

Tried a new pancake recipe made with gluten free oat flour and they actually turned out well!! (I am the queen of making shitty pancakes).

Made my first cup of Dalgona Coffee, if you’ve never tried it- I highly recommend. Check out my IG post with the luscious cup of milk and frothed coffee on top, it doesn’t disappoint.

Organized all my recipe books in the kitchen by simply placing them upright in a basket. It’s more inviting and visually you can see all the books, it’s great.

Video chatted my parents more than I ever have in my life.

Supported local businesses! Mostly through decaf iced coffees and paleo cookies…hehe

Cleaned all my makeup brushes. I use Dr. Bronners in Lavender and its magically relaxing. Also works as a multi purpose soap for body, face, hair, cleaning, you name it.

Bought some bad ass black gloves for my new motorcycle!

Unfollowed a lot of people that don’t serve me.

Watched Tiger King.

Organized my closet and donated more clothes.

Built and planted my very own garden with my main squeeze.

Started composting.

Cleaned out the entire freezer/fridge, it looks brand new!

Did a couples workout in the backyard.

Started a new self care ritual using a Gua Sha stone for my face and neck. It feels amazing.

Made some homemade sprouted almond milk for the first time. Heavenly.

Cried. A lot.

Walks. Lots of walks with the pup.

Did a new whole body circuit that kicked my butt.

Went on a late night walk and saw a full moon on the same night the power went out in the entire neighborhood.

Found a dove’s nest in our backyard with the cutest lil white eggs laying inside. Dove’s are symbolic of my grandfather so I know he’s been around a lot lately.

Bought tulips.

Made breakfast tacos for Easter Brunch.

Luke is teaching me some more guitar since I lost all my sweet skills….lol

Meditated while simultaneously crying.

Danced around my little studio apartment.

Called my grandma.

Started planning a DIY kitchen island…..eeek!

Started a new book.

The best way to occupy your time right now is to get inspired! Take on a new hobby, learn a new language, clean out your house (start room by room), sell some clothes (I like Depop and Heroine), read a book or two, send someone you love a card in the mail, practice a new self care ritual, the possibilities are endless. Not into adding anything new to the list? No problem, master your craft. Learn more about something that relates to your job/lifestyle. Get to know your partner or kids on a deeper level. Share a new experience with them. I hope you guys are finding some peace in the chaos. I’m rooting for you! Plenty more will be accumulated onto the “quarantine list”, but no matter what you do, find some joy in it! You don’t have to do all the things all the time, but take each day as a reminder to be thankful, present, and stirred up. I hope you find some light from this post, and as always I love to hear your thoughts, opinions and views. If you have any questions about anything I’ve done thus far in quarantine, don’t hesitate to reach out!

Oh, and don’t forget to enjoy your favorite beverage, as much as you want!! Cheers!

Love and health,

Ro
